liquid, colorless, transparent, flows…
a matter with such flexible, non-static shape. It can change its form in to any shape of its container. If you pour it in to a bottle, it’ll shape like it. If you pour it in to a bowl, it’ll shape like it. But sometime, it’ll form its own shape.. If you pour it on to the floor, it’ll take some form, any shape-like.. morning dew is a type of water, with its own shape n size..as well as pouring rain.
It could bring some calm, as you see a pond, a lake, or even a flowing river
It could make you feel some emotions, when u see to the ocean, waterfall, the river current
It could give a life, as you water the plants, take a drink, even the pouring rain, river, ocean
It could be destructive, as the flood, heavy rain, tidal wave
The nature of water seems to be massive yet not-rigid, its needed as well as avoided at some point. For an organism to survive, it needs water.. human body needs enough amount of liquid, as do as animal, trees, vegetation. Surely u’re NOT expecting flood following a heavy rain, or such a tidal wave when u’re near the ocean.. u may not enjoy the heavy rain, when u have some outdoor activity..
personally, my favorite “type” of water is when its in the form of a lake or pond, enough amount of water, but i can feel the calm n the serenity. i can swim, but i have some fear about the ocean, for me that body of water seems has its hidden power that at any moment can be unleashed. crossing the strait of Bali from Java, on a ship for about 1 hour (or less) was pretty scary thing for me, especially during the night. even though, on the returning trip i could enjoy it.. but maybe it was more of the psychological that helps me to enjoy it, it was on the way home ^^ as much as i enjoy the beach, but seeing those amount of water of the ocean, where as far as u can see way to the horizon are all water, it creeps me out a bit. being on a small boat to reach the small island, was such an experience for me, for i fear of fallin out of the boat n drown (couldn’t swim back then, hehe). even when i can swim, seeing the ocean, no matter how beautiful n serene it may be, the fear still exist.
The philosophy of water for me, is that it’s such a non-form matter but not without its own essence.. it has its strength n it shows in some ways.. flexible yet powerful.. u can touch it, but u can’t mold it, can’t make it into some form, unless u froze it. if so, therefore it’s no longer a liquid, but defroze it, it’ll become a liquid -water- again. it “blends” with any other type of liquid, syrup, honey -for example. hot plain water can tastes sweet when u add some sugar in. it can “change” color when u put in some tea leaves. it shows its flexibility n the ability of “adjusting” itself. But large amount of water, can bring both good n bad side. it’s useful for watermill, power plant, relaxing in a bath tub ^^, swim n other water sports. but in the form of flood, tsunami, its power could be extremely destructive. The colorless features shows the visible, plain, blatant nature of water.. most body of water seems blue.. ocean, lake, river. but u can found the green or any other “color” body of water, depends on what the organism lies/live within it. Kelimutu is a 3 colors lake.. The transparancy, can be associated with the nature of truthful, where it shows what it has within -the inner side, just as it is. put it in aquarium n have a red color-lamp light up, it may look red, yet u can still see the transparent-colorless water. it doesn’t change whatever puts in it, in any ways.. unless u put something that can dissolve like sugar, or something that can absorb such as sponge. one thing water can do is to make things wet, even waterproof -for it’s simply does not absorb the water, but the surface will still wet, or at least it’ll be in some form of bubbly shape that u can wipe off. The temperature, it is said that water in nature is cold.. i couldn’t be either agree or disagree with this 1, for it also depends on the surrounding. if it’s said the nature is NOT hot, that i agree. I have not yet ever measure the temperature of water in a tub, in a glass, water of the ocean, the rain, or any other plain-natural water (translation: not those we put in the fridge nor those we boil). but u will notice waterfall, which we often find in the area of mountain, tends to be colder than water in our daily surrounding. water tends to be colder during the night than the day. i guess it only shows -again- its nature of flexibility, when the temperature is low, it can get quite cold.. in this sense, water has the ability to adjust itself, allowing the outer element, external factor to have some influence on itself. it can be good or not so good characteristic, depends on your point of view -as well as other nature charateristic of water.
we may find water as 1 of the important element of nature, when it’s calm it brings such peace, the sound of the water flows, the beauty of the ocean, the raindrop could be quite romantic sometime.. but it has such force lies within it, which can bring the life as well as destruction. i’ll say, let’s not mess with water, as flexible as it may be, with the ability to adjust itself, at some point it can also be destructive.. but playin’ with water does seems like 1 of the most fun things to do as a child (or is it still even until u’ve grown up ^^) the worst possible effect -that i could think of- is you catch cold, for playin’ water too long. final word, for me, water is quite friendly element ![]()
you may find interesting reading about water in The Philosophy of Water
for i will enclose this writing with the some pics of water n quotation :
water is the element of change, capable of adapting to many things.. deal with the flow of energy, they let their defense become their offense, turning their opponents own forces against them (avatar-Aang the last airbender)

Hi, thanks for linking to my old-forgotten post
I see we shared similar interest on the nature of water
much welcome, it’s nice writing bout water
Wait… lemme ask you a question…
how did you find that old post of mine?
google of course ^^
Veryyyy niceee……
If you’re into psychoanalisis based therapy, there’s a technique called dream analysis. “Water” is related with emotional element and also reveal your relations toward mother. We could say that children (on earlier developmental stage) “learn” about emotion from their mother.
I have this persistent dream about water. Whenever I feel sad, I always dream on a rainy situation. When I feel overwhelmed by the emotion, depressed, etc. I frequently dream about tsunami or tidal wave.
But, water is also related with “washing process” so that dream about water it means, your unconsciousness try to wash the traumatic experience.
Ciaoooo
water does associated to female figure..
thanx for sharing more knowledge which also relates to psychology ^^
i seldom had dreams about water, hmm.. hope it means i have no traumatic experience to be washed out
Hi – I am certainly glad to find this. cool job!
